Have greater words ever been written?
Leading the way in supporting our surf sports grassroots, Race One are proud to be putting a giant emphasis on Australia’s ripper nippers.
With a mission to empower individuals to unlock their potential and shine in and out of the water, Race One continues to facilitate free clinics around the country lead by the nation’s best, our best, Race One athletes.
One of those athletes is Lennox Head born and breed, Hannah Sculley.
Growing up in the coastal town of Northern New South Wales, Hannah remembers being an 11-year-old nipper sitting in front of her television, enthralled by the Ironwoman series, inspired to work towards her very own ‘pink’ togs.
“I remember as an 11-year-old who absolutely loved watching the Iron series on TV,” she said.
“Every time a race was on, the TV was mine and I was not to be interrupted until it was over – I just wanted to be one of those girls in pink togs, doing what they love!”
Entering her 7th professional Ironwoman Series in the coming weeks, Hannah knows the importance of investing in grassroots for the future of her sport, our sport, Surf Sports.
“By creating excitement and participation within the younger ranks, our sport can continue to grow for years to come!” she said excitedly.
“The events that Race One support has created a new buzz on the beach!”
As an ambassador for Race One, a mentor for our youth and a little Lennox Head nipper who dared to dream, the importance of giving back to the sport that made Hannah, ‘Sculley’, is an opportunity she is grateful for.
“Seeing the kids faces and them having fun, you can tell they are absolutely loving running around with the athletes, their friends and enjoying their time doing the sport!” she said.
“The clinics are always the best days, and we are beyond lucky to have the support of Race One to enable us to give back tenfold to the sport that has made us who WE are!”
Riding her Race One surf craft into the 2024/25 season, Hannah Sculley will continue to inspire Australia’s ripper nippers to participate, have fun and dare to dream as she endeavors to not only succeed across all disciplines this summer, but will lead our Race One nipper clinics as we invest into the future of our sport.
Because, it’s true – “Nothing really matters if we don’t invest in the future of our sport!”
