Ali Day - He’s called it a day.

Dear Ali Day,

This isn’t a farewell from Race One but a thank you from the people who were lucky enough to stand beside you.
You trusted us in moments that mattered.
In a sport where conditions can’t be controlled and outcomes are never guaranteed, that trust meant everything.
Our role was precision. Yours was courage.

We watched the cost as closely as the success.
The early mornings, the tired bodies. The drive home with your beautiful family after races the world would later replay in highlight reels.
You carried expectation with humility, and pressure with grace.
You were never just racing other athletes.
You raced the ocean. The chaos. Yourself.
The stopwatch could only ever tell part of the story — the rest lived in commitment,
consistency, and character.

Your character, your greatest asset.
You never raced like you were entitled to win.
You knew the ocean didn’t care who you were.
Every start line was met with respect, not expectation.
Our watches measure seconds. You measured standards.

You changed what ‘possible’ looked like on the beach.
Your success redefined the standards.
Our sport and our craft had to evolve to keep up.
We thank you.

Your preparation, non-negotiable.
Your fitness, skill, and ocean awareness were no longer separate – they became one.
Your training, dedication and passion has rippled throughout our sport.
We thank you.

You brought professionalism.
You showcased that excellence and respect could coexist.
You taught our younger athletes to chase standards, rather than medals.
We thank you.

Thank you for representing Race One with integrity.
Thank you for letting us be part of something special.
Thank you for raising the bar in a way that can’t be manufactured or replicated.

The watch still ticks. And the beach will feel different.
But long after the results fade, what remains is expectation.
The bar is higher because you, Ali Day, stood there first.

We never owned the story, but we were lucky enough to walk beside it.
From Race One — always proud, always grateful.
Congratulations.

Yours upon craft,
Your Race One Family.
