Tanyn Lyndon - He’s been ‘back’ before, and he plans to be ‘back’ again.

Tanyn will trial, again.

As the passion remains, so too does the man in dickies.

Unable to let go of his love for surf sports just yet, Tanyn Lyndon endeavors to spend another summer, training, racing and playing in what he refers to as his favourite ‘playground’.

He’s been ‘back’ before, and he plans to be ‘back’ again.

Lining up to trial in a fortnight’s time, one may question if his age will hinder him or if perhaps two kids have pulled a little hand break on his training, but we can tell you, neither of these have crossed his mind and if they have, he’s entirely unphased by both possibilities.

With Tanyn, there’s not really anything new to learn about his ‘why’; for the past 25 years it’s always been about passion.

“I just love it; I have always had a passion for surf!” he saidwith the depth of his love felt through each word.

With the same enthusiasm, desire and passion he has carried since nippers, Tanyn will line up for another season with the addition an offseason alongside Michael King and the BHMP boys pushing him to find his best.

I’ve been able to put in a whole offseason with Michael and the boys at BHMP and it’s truly been unreal,” Tanyn said proudly.

We turn up, and we do the work, Michael takes care of the rest.

“Everyone turns up to turn it on, in every effort, every lap of the pool, every in and out. You get pushed; you push each other and the benefits we all gain from that are second to none.”

For the father of two, the hardest part of the session is getting to it.

Not due to lack of sleep, although that was mentioned,
but finding the strength to be selfish enough to go.

“The part I find the hardest in all of this, is being selfish enough to go and actually do it because I am sacrificing time with my family,” Tanyn said honestly.

It’s such a challenge for me to turn around and go, especially to do something by myself or for myself rather than being with them.”

Despite finding it hard to leave the family at times, when the trial weekend rolls around, you best bet your bottom dollar that he’s put in the work.

“I’ve put in a fair bit of work this year in comparison to other years,” he said confidently.

Lining up with a slightly higher date of birth than most, Tanyn will look to lean on his experience, something he says you can’t train.

I have raced this format and a lot of Ironman trials so I suppose going into it I’ve got a bit of experience,” he stated.

You can’t really train experience but if you’ve got it you can try to utilize it to the best of your ability and I’ll definitely be looking to bring that to the forefront for the weekend.”

Lining up on his Race One craft in yet another trial, unphased by age, not bothered by the unpredictability of two children,an ever changing schedule and full time job, Tanyn Lyndon will put his toes on the line, again, determined to succeed and deliver more days in the sun, and on the sand for his family.

“Having the kids on the beach with me, all together in myfavourite playground, is the best part of any day!

We will see Tanyn Lyndon back on top this summer?

Time will tell.
